Ingredients:Candied
pecans
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper
Pinch cayenne
2 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 cups pecan halves
For the dressing:
2 tbsp. cider vinegar
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
1 tsp. honey
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper
6 tbsp. vegetable oil
For the salad:
8 cups mixed greens
2 ripe pears, sliced |
Pear & Candied Pecan Salad

Method:
- In a small bowl, mix together sugar, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, ginger, 1/4 tsp.
pepper and cayenne.
- In medium skillet, combine butter, sugar mixture and pecans. Heat over medium heat,
stirring constantly, until sugar has melted and nuts are coated. Cool on lightly greased
aluminum foil.
- In a small bowl, whisk together vinegar, mustard, honey, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 tsp.
salt and 1/8 tsp. pepper. Slowly whisk in oil.
- To serve, toss greens with dressing. Add pears and toss to coat. Sprinkle with pecans.
