Ingredients:

1/2 pkg (17.3 oz size) frozen puff pastry sheets (1 sheet)
1 egg
1 tbsp water
Assorted fillings (see below)

Method:
  1. Thaw pastry sheet at room temperature for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Mix egg, water, beat well and set aside.
  2. Unfold pastry on lightly floured surface. Roll into 14" * 10" rectangle and cut into half in lengthwise. Brush both pastry halves with egg mixture.
  3. Top one pastry half with any filling, place remaining pastry half, egg-side down, over filling-topped half. Roll gently with rolling pin to seal.
  4. Cut crosswise into 28 (1/2") strips. Twist strips and place 2" apart on greased baking sheet, pressing down ends.
  5. Brush with egg mixture and bake for 10 minutes or until golden in color.
  6. Serve warm or at room temperature.
    Makes 28.
  • Use one of the following fillings:
    Parmesan Cheese: 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley and 1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves, crushed.
    Choco-Berry: 2 tbsp seedless raspberry jam and 1/3 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate pieces.
    Cinnamon-Sugar: Mix 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp ground cinnamon.
