Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Gingersnap Cookies

Method:
- Preheat oven to 350� F. Place shortening and sugar in large mixer bowl and cream until
light and fluffy. Add molasses and egg and beat well.
- Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and spices. Gradually add to shortening mixture and
mix well.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased
cookie sheets. Bake for 12 minutes.
- Remove from cookie sheets and place cookies on wire racks to cool.
Makes 24 (2 cookie) servings
