Ingredients:

3 cups (18-oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk
Dash salt
1/2 to 1 cup chopped nuts, optional
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Method:
  1. Line 8 or 9-inch square pan with foil or wax paper. Butter foil or wax paper; set aside.
  2. In a medium-sized heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chips with condensed milk and salt. Remove from heat; stir in nuts if desired and the vanilla. Spread evenly into prepared pan. Chill for 2 hours or until firm.
  3. Turn fudge onto cutting board; peel off foil and cut into squares. Store covered in refrigerator.
  4. Peanut Butter Glazed Fudge: Omit nuts. Stir 3/4 cup peanut butter flavored chips in with vanilla. Spread in a pan and chill as above.
  5. For glaze, in a small saucepan, melt 1/2 cup peanut butter flavored chips with 1/2 cup whipping cream; stir until thick and smooth. Spread over chilled fudge. Chill. Cut and store as above.
  6. Marshmallow Fudge: Omit nuts. Stir 2 tbsp butter in with vanilla. Fold in 2-cup miniature marshmallows. Proceed as above.
    Makes about 2 lbs
    Preparation time: 10 minutes (excluding chilling time)
