Ingredients:

2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup minced onion
1 egg
1-1/4 cups milk

Method:
  1. Pre-heat oven to 425° F. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheese and onion. Beat egg and milk until well mixed.
  3. Stir into flour mixture until flour is moistened. Drop heaping tablespoons of dough one-inch apart onto greased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden. Serve warm.
    Makes about 18 biscuits
    Preparation time: 30 minutes
