Ingredients:

4 lbs boneless beef brisket flat cut
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
3 large onions, thickly sliced
1 cup hot water
2 tbsp corn starch
1 cup cold water

Baked Beef Brisket

Method:
  1. Place brisket, fat side up, in open roasting pan. Sprinkle salt, pepper and garlic over top of the brisket; add onions.
  2. Bake in moderate oven at 350 degrees F for 1 hour or until the onions turn light brown.
  3. Add hot water, cover pan tightly with aluminum foil. Reduce oven temperature to 300 degrees and continue cooking for 2 hours.
  4. Remove brisket and onions to warm platter. To make gravy, combine cornstarch and cold water; stir into cooking liquid. Cook and stir until gravy thickens.
    Serves: 12
