Ingredients:

1/2 recipe basic pizza base
1/2 recipe tomato sauce
Butter or oil for greasing
To be combined into a topping:
8 fresh mushrooms, blanched and sliced
8 black olives, sliced
1/2 cup red pepper, diced
1/4 cup cooked sweet corn kernels
2 to 3 pickled jalapeno peppers, sliced
1/2 tomato, diced
1 small onion, sliced
1 tbsp. celery, sliced
1/4 tsp. mixed dried herbs or oregano
Salt to taste
For baking:
1/2 cup cooking cheese or mozzarella cheese
1 tbsp. olive oil or oil

Deep-Dish Veggie Pizza

Method:
  1. Roll out the pizza dough into a circle of 200 mm. (8") diameter and 8 mm. (1/3") thickness. Line a 150-mm. (6") greased pie dish with it.
  2. Spread the tomato sauce over the base and fill with the topping. Top with the cheese and finally drizzle the olive oil over it.
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180° C (360° F) for about 20 minutes or until the base is evenly browned. Serve hot.
    Makes 1 pizza
    Preparation time: 40-50 minutes
