Ingredients:

450g fresh green beans, sliced
2 tbsp sesame seeds
3 tbsp oil
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
6 garlic flakes, finely chopped
2 red chilies
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tbsp desiccated coconut
Salt to taste

Spiced Green Beans

Method:
  1. Heat a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat and dry roast the sesame seeds until they are lightly browned. Keep aside and allow to cool.
  2. Heat the oil over medium heat and season with mustard seeds until they splutter.
  3. Add garlic and fry until brown. Also add red chilies, turmeric and coriander powder. Stir well.
  4. Now add beans, salt and cook until the beans are tender, stirring occasionally.
  5. Grind the sesame seeds and coconut in a blender and add to the beans.
  6. Cook for another 5 minutes and remove from heat.
  7. Serve with chicken tikka masala or shahi korma.
