Ingredients:

1 cup basmati rice, boiled
Juice of 2 lemons
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp sugar
Salt to taste
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tbsp split gram dal (chana dal)
3 dry red chilies, broken into pieces
Few curry leaves

Method:
  1. Mix lemon juice, turmeric, salt and sugar together in a small bowl.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, split gram dal, red chilies, curry leaves and fry until the dal changes color.
  3. To this, add lemon juice mixture and 1/4 cup water. Cover and simmer on low flame until the mixture gets thickened.
  4. Add this mixture to the boiled rice and mix well. Stir gently for 2-3 minutes and serve hot.
