Ingredients:

2 lbs fish fillets (2" * 2")
2 large tomatoes, chopped
1 tbsp turmeric
Salt to taste
2 tsp cumin seeds ground
2 cups water
1 cup oil
1 tbsp chopped cilantro
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp fennel seeds (lightly crushed)
1/2 tsp black cumin seeds
1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds (methi)
For Gravy:
In a sauce pan, bring the tomatoes, turmeric, ground cumin seeds, salt and water to a boil. Keep aside

Machhere Jhol

Method:
  1. In a wide non-stick pan, fry the fish pieces until golden brown.
  2. Place the fried pieces in the gravy.
  3. In the remaining oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, black cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds and fry them. Add to the fish pieces.
  4. Cook the fish pieces on medium heat for 10 minutes.
  5. Garnish with cilantro.
