Ingredients:

1/2 kg fish fillets, cleaned & de boned
2-3 potatoes, boiled, peeled & mashed
150 gm onions
100 gm oil
2 tsp ginger garlic paste to marinate
1 tsp chili powder to marinate
1/2 tsp turmeric powder to marinate
2 tsp lime juice
2 bunches fresh coriander leaves, ground to a paste
1 bunch mint leaves, ground to a paste
10 green chilies, ground to a paste
1 tsp chironje seeds, roasted & ground
2 tsp khus khus seeds, roasted & ground
1 tsp cashew nuts, roasted & ground
2 tbsp ground fresh coconut
Salt to taste

Dum Machili

Method:
  1. Mix chili powder, turmeric, ginger garlic paste and marinate the fish fillets and mashed potatoes. Rub the fillets with ground green paste (mint leaves & coriander leaves) and leave for 1/2 an hour.
  2. Slice the onions and fry in oil till light brown in color. Remove and spread them out on a flat plate. When cool, ground to soft paste.
  3. Mix the roasted and ground powders to the onions paste and apply this paste to the fish fillets.
  4. When the pieces are mixed well, spread them on a flat baking dish.
  5. Pour oil on top and bake in a moderate oven for 30 minutes till light brown on top.
