Ingredients:

1/2 cup onions
10 red chilies
15g urad dal
10g tamarind
3 tbsp gingelly oil
Salt to taste

Method:
  1. Chop onions and fry in 1 tbsp oil until they become transparent. Set aside.
  2. In the same pan, heat 1 tbsp oil and fry the red chilies and dal.
  3. Grind the fried ingredients, onions and salt in a blender for 2 minutes to form a smooth paste.
  4. Heat 1 tbsp oil and fry the ground chutney for 10 minutes. This can be preserved for 2-3 days.
