| Ingredients: Suji (semolina)
- 1 cup
Pure ghee - 1 tbsp
Finely chopped onions -1 cup
Finely chopped green chilies - 2
Mustard seeds -1 tsp
Urad dhal -1 tsp
Hing (asafoetida) - one pinch
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Water - 2 cups
Salt to taste |

Method:
- Heat ghee in a pan. Season with mustard seeds, urad dhal, hing and curry leaves.
- Add onions, green chilies and fry. Now add suji and fry for two minutes. Salt can be
added now.
- Then pour water and stir well till the upma comes out from the pan and in serving
consistency.
- Suggestion: To make the dish more richer, cashew halves can be added while seasoning. To
make the dish look attractive, just sprinkle finely chopped coriander leaves over it.
- Serve with coconut chutney.
