Ingredients:

Suji (semolina) - 1 cup
Pure ghee - 1 tbsp
Finely chopped onions -1 cup
Finely chopped green chilies - 2
Mustard seeds -1 tsp
Urad dhal -1 tsp
Hing (asafoetida) - one pinch
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Water - 2 cups
Salt to taste

Suji Upma

Method:
  1. Heat ghee in a pan. Season with mustard seeds, urad dhal, hing and curry leaves.
  2. Add onions, green chilies and fry. Now add suji and fry for two minutes. Salt can be added now.
  3. Then pour water and stir well till the upma comes out from the pan and in serving consistency.
  4. Suggestion: To make the dish more richer, cashew halves can be added while seasoning. To make the dish look attractive, just sprinkle finely chopped coriander leaves over it.
  5. Serve with coconut chutney.
    Serves: 2
