| Ingredients: Tuvar
daal - 1 cup, rinsed
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp.
Onion - 1 medium size, chopped
Green chili - 1-2 chopped
Tomato 1 chopped
Coriander leaves chopped, 2 tbsps
Jeera (cumin seeds) 1/2 tsp.
Oil for frying
Salt to taste |

Method:
- Boil daal in water with turmeric powder until it is half cooked.
- Add the sliced onions, green chilies, salt and cook until almost done.
- Add tomato and coriander leaves, cook for a few more minutes. When done take off the
fire.
- Heat oil, fry the jeera and add to the daal. Serve hot with chappathis or parathas.
