Ingredients: Cooked
rice 2 cups
Grated green mango 1 cup
Chopped onions - 1/2 cup (optional)
Salt - 2 tsp
Chili powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Asafoetida -1 pinch
Mustard -1 tsp
Oil - 2 to 3 tbsp
Curry leaves - small bunch
Fried peanuts - a handful
For Raitha:
Yogurt - 1/2 cup
Baby okras - 6 to 8 |
Mouth-Watering Mango Rice |
Method:
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard, turmeric powder and asafoetida.
- After the mustard splutters, add chopped onions and fry till they turn golden brown.
- Add the grated mango, chili powder and salt. Cook the mango till it becomes very soft.
- Now, add the cooked rice. Stir well and garnish with curry leaves.
- Sprinkle fried peanuts on top before serving. Serve with the "Baby
Okra-Raitha".
Serves: 4 to 6
Preparation time: 15 - 20 minutes
For Baby-Okra Raitha:
Fry the baby okras and mix with salted yogurt. Voila! Mouth watering Mango Rice is
ready to eat!
