Ingredients:

Chicken - 500 gms
Oil - 4 tblspn
Black pepper - 10
Bay leaves - few
Cloves - 5
Cinnamon sticks - 3
Onion - 2
Garlic paste - 1 tsp
Ginger paste - 1/2 tsp
Tomatoes (diced) - 2
Potatoes - 2
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder - 2 tblsp (depending on your taste)
Coriander leaves - 1 bunch
Green chillies - 5 small
Coconut paste - 2 tblspn
Salt to taste

Konkani Chicken Masala

Method:
  1. Clean the chicken. Cut onions into thin slices. Grind coriander and chilies to fine paste.
  2. Take oil in thick bottom vessel. When oil heats up, add black pepper, cloves, bay leaves and cinnamon sticks. Heat for 30 seconds. Add sliced onions and fry till golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for couple of minutes. Add diced tomatoes and fry till oil separates. Add turmeric and chili powder. Fry for couple of minutes.
  4. Add 4 tblsp of coriander and chili paste. Fry for 5 minutes. Add coconut paste and fry till oil separates.
  5. Add diced potatoes, chicken and mix well. Add water as per your requirement. Add salt to taste.
  6. Serve with rice, lemon slices and pappad.
    Serves: 4
