Ingredients:

1 to 1 1/2 yellow moong dhal
2 raw bananas
250 gms yam (Suran/Saenaiy)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 to 2 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
Salt to taste
Few curry leaves
1 tbsp coconut oil

Karunkalan

Method:
  1. Dry roast the dhal till you get a light smell out of it. Then pressure-cook it.
  2. Cut the vegetables into 1-inch thick pieces and boil it in water adding salt, turmeric powder and pepper powder.
  3. When the vegetables are done, add the dhal, curry leaves and the coconut oil.
  4. Simmer for about 2 - 3 minutes and serve hot with steamed rice.
    Serves 6
