| Ingredients: 2 cups
long grain rice
4 cups water
2 1/2 tsp. jeera (cumin seeds)
2 cups peas, shelled
1 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp. ground pepper
Salt to taste |

Method:
- Soak rice for about half an hour.
- Heat oil in a heavy bottomed vessel. When oil is heated, add jeera and fry it.
- When done, add the peas and fry it in oil for 2 minutes. Now drain the water from rice
and add it to the mixture and fry the rice for 2 to 3 minutes till it gets coated by oil
and turns color.
- Now add water along with salt and pepper. Bring to boil on high heat.
- Reduce the flame to medium and cook covered for about 15 minutes or till rice is well
cooked.
- Serve hot with any gravy of your choice.
