Ingredients:

2 cups yellow split peas
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp chili powder
Salt to taste
For the rotis:
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp oil
Pinch of salt

Dal Roti

Method:
  1. Make the dough by mixing all the ingredients to firm, make balls.
  2. For filling; boil peas until soft not mushy, add cumin, chili powder, salt and mix well.
  3. Flatten roti balls and place a small amount of filling in center forming a ball again.
  4. Roll out on a floured surface, be careful not to break the rotis, bake on flat frying pan brushing with butter or oil on each side until golden spots begin to appear on rotis.
  5. Serve with any curry or chutney.
    Serves: 5
    Preparation time: 40 minutes
