Ingredients:

2 cups whole masoor dal
2 beetroots
500gms mutton
2 onions, chopped
1 tbs ginger garlic paste
2 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp haldi powder
2 tsp dhania powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
2 tomatoes, chopped
Salt
Oil

Black Dal With Mutton & Beetroot

Method:
  1. Boil dal with salt and haldi. Boil beetroot and cut in halves.
  2. Next heat oil and fry chopped onion till brown. Add mutton and ginger garlic paste and fry.
  3. Then add all spices, tomatoes and fry till tomatoes are pulpy and oil separates. Cover and cook till mutton is done.
  4. Then add the dal, beetroot, salt and 2 cups of water and cook on slow fire for 15 minutes.
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with rotis, bread or boiled rice.
    Serves: 4-5 persons
    Preparation time: 1 1/2 hour
