| Ingredients: 2 medium size Asian pears
2 oz raisins
2 oz rock sugar, crushed |
Sweet Steamed Pears

Method:
- Peel skin off the pears and cut in half. Remove core to make a hole in the center of
each pear, for about 1 1/2 to 2 inches in diameter.
- Combine raisins and rock sugar. Fill each pear half with 1/4 of raisin-rock sugar
mixture and sprinkle with almonds.
- Place pears on a heat-proof dish that will fit in the steaming tray. Add 4 cups of water
to the pot and bring to a boil.
- Place steaming tray, with heat-proof dish inside, on top of pot.
- Steam until rock sugar dissolves, for about an hour.
Serves: 2
